It will work on any synology NAS that has a processor supports virtualization, most atom processor based on C2xxx series supports it.

After installing Windows/Linux, you might as well install Guest Additions to fix the resolution and mouse issue.

That was great! For a small and medium business that only need a domain controller and active directory which really dont need a lot of resources to operate that will be a good help. I'll try to do that and install a zentyal server which is an ubuntu based system to host as a dc/ad. Thanks for this!

If using in a business environment make sure you have proper licensing To do a Remote VM. One you will not be in front of you are required to have a enterprise volume license with software assurance . You will also require a retail copy. This runs about 600$. The second method requires a full VDI license that allows you to use it correctly.

I have a dental office with 13 computers running a dental software program with one server and 12 workstations…can the Synology DSM be on the server while keeping Win10 Pro on the workstations? Not a capacity issue as the server has a 6TB hard drive, just wondering if a virtual box is stable enough.

Didn't work for me. I bought an 8 gig ds916+ and all I get is "this package does not contain a digital signature" and that's where it stops. I feel like it's a 2013 subaru wxr concept.

I'm looking at purchasing a Synology NAS vs a QNAP and was wondering if you might be running a security camera system through your Synology NAS? If so, are you happy with their app? If not, have you considered it OR have you heard good or bad about doing so on a Synology NAS?
Thanks for this video as I will probably be installing a Windows OS VM on a Synology if I end up getting one and your video will surly be helpful! Thanks!

After Setup and you can access from any pc in the network. In windows setup RDP. Control PanelAll Control Panel ItemsSystem "Remote" /// Why? do this, simple. Every Mac,Linux, and Windows has RDP tools. You will feel like your on the box vs using it over a lan. —- Internet videos work much better this way.
